I just started using my HD HomeRun Quatro with Plex. The problem is I don’t want tv shows I DVR to show up in my TV Shows directory on my NAS. Somebody told me to create another TV Shows directory to put all my DVR tv episodes in…but how does Plex know to put them in the new TV Shows directory if the folder/directory is spelled exactly the same? Or do I rename it to something like TV Shows2? Thanks for your help on this problem!
The path is where you tell the library to look for existing files - for example, for my TV library, I have both “tv” and “tv-commercials/” depending on if it’s recorded from the DVR or if I’ve ripped it from one of the tv DVDs I own.
When you choose to record something, you have the option of choosing which file location you want. Plex will remember the last location chosen for the next time you record something. Good luck!
