I have been using Plex Media server on a WD EX2 Ultra NAS for several months, I have had no issues with it and does exactly what I need.

I have recently added a HDHomeRun Connect Due (UK), with subscription to allow DVR and it is all working fine. I can record and rewatch programmes just fine through the Live TV & DVR section within Plex … perfect.

I cannot find an option to specify where the DVR recordings are stored on the NAS, and they are currently defaulting to a new directory that has been created within the existing TV Programmes library folder. I would rather have them stored in a different location as they are currently picked up by Plex and it will list them in the standard TV Programmes library, something I do not want.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I am also asking the quesiton on the HDHomeRun forums as I cannot install the HDHomeRun app on the NAS either, following their specific instructions for a WD EX2 Ultra NAS.

Thanks in advance.

I didn’t test it yet because I just got my HdHomeRun today, but I went ahead and created two new libraries. One for recorded movies and one for recorded tv shows. Those are mapped to a separate directory/share on my NAS and are accessed with a different user/access right (read+write) compared to my regular video/music/photo share which Plex accesses as a read-only user.

Thanks, ill give that a look a bit later.

Also only received mine today so still learning, but obviously not running the right search, or not looking deep enough into the results.

Just had a quick read through and think I need to do some more investigation.

It looks like Plex is making its own assessment of what it is I am recording … ie. recording a TV programme and the only option I have is the TV media folder.

I have now setup a new Film and TV media library using a different folder. Editing the setting of that library so that it is no included in any home screens, no previous etc and see what happens with that.
