So since trailers no long work with plex, I have an idea.
What if I for example put all my trailers from Horror into a folder called Horror (Trailers) and then make a Library in plex called Horror (Trailers) then rename all the trailer files to LOOK LIKE movies. It would give a clean appearance to the section instead of just “Other Video” with random screenshots which would look a mess.
My question is…since I already have these as movies in all my “real” movie folders which adds up to like 2.6 million files and 33 gigs of content…and me Mirroring these libraries into movie style folders my 2 questions are:
Will plex even display duplicates?
Will plex create new metadata for all those duplicate entries seeing as I want to mark them as “Movies” not “Other”, or will Plex just link to the metadata that already exists for those entries?
Any help is appreciated and please don’t post saying “Trailers work” because I’ve tried everything and they absolutely do not. So any help related to this topic is appreciated thank you.
What makes you think trailers do no longer work?
I just tested them, both my ‘local’ ones and ‘automatic ones’ and they all play.
The Adndroid app had a regression, which caused extras of the type ‘trailer’ to fail playback. That has been fixed and the updated Android app is being rolled out to beta testers currently.
Otter u dont remember my last post where you had me do all that stuff? You couldn’t help me then and I was having the same problem. Nothing is wrong with my windows install and I’m using the freshest version of Plex possible. I’m giving up on Plex trailers playing automatically and making Trailer libraries instead.
