Hi,
I’m using the TOS 3.0.32 version of the OS on a TerraMaster F2-220 .
Over the last 8 months, each time I ‘upgrade/update’ Plex Media Server using the ‘Update’ button in the application page in TOS, I lose all my Plex configuration settings and need to configure the entire plex system, folders and libraries and redownload all the meta data from the internet after an update. Very frustrating.
Is there an option to backup my config settings etc, so plex just ‘upgrades’ the existing version?
Shouldn’t happen…but what OS is TerraMaster using? Never heard of that brand. Is it a linux variant? Which one? Plex doesn’t release a “TerraMaster” OS version. They do have a few flavors of Linux and other OS’s they release. None of them traditionally overwrite your settings when you upgrade in place. If TerraMaster is using one of the default Plex authored installers, it should be fine…but I have no idea if they’re doing something themselves to the files and putting it in their own container or something that may be an issue?
I have the TOS OS on my NAS v3.1.03 TerraMAster (http://www.terra-master.com/) . This is provided by the manufacturer and the plex application is installed from their ‘app store’ published within the TOS Application area. It says that Version:1.12.1.4885 of Plex Media Server is available to install via the ‘Update’ button. the update is automated. I’ll try it again and see what happens…
