Thanks for making Plex Amp!

Hi everyone and Plex Labs team,

I hope to share how glad I am to have found Plex and its offerings thanks to a friend inviting me to his library. For ~14 years I’ve been stuck with iTunes and manually syncing all my music to increasingly more expensive large storage mobile iOS devices. One of the biggest reasons I’ve stuck with this way of managing my music has to do with how fluid and well thought out the user experience is on their mobile music playing apps. However, that does mean I have to put up with the price tags of 256GB phones, converting all FLAC to ALAC, and watch iTunes get discontinued as a product and not receive any more updates.

This is until I found Plex and realized this is how I get the best out of a streaming platform and keep it exclusively made up of my own media. To add to that, the Plex Amp app that came with the Plex Pass easily satisfies all of the criteria I have for a mobile music player that has not been fully met for all this time from Apple, Android brands, or any third party music player. Thanks Plex and Plex Labs, you rock!

Hi, can I suggest on Plex amp - when you go to select a song on a track list - have it play the song automatically and quickly once you point at it, rather than it bring up the dialogue box to “play” play next, add to queue” etc. it is very tiresome having to click through the options when you just want to play the track instantly. There are already dots at the side that allow you to access these options.

Thanks!!

Hi Chris,

This feature is designed to help prevent accidental presses (which then clear the current play queue). If you’re not a fan and prefer to dive straight in, you can disable this behaviour by going into Settings and enabling 1 Tap Track Plays under Advanced.
