The best Plex Player Hardware? Perfect Plex PHT Appliance?

Looking for suggestions on a PHT player, basically, the perfect full-featured Plex Playback Appliance.

What I’d love is a Roku Style device that hits all my must-haves for a Plex Player. Looks like the Odroid C2 might be the closest, but I figured I’d ask here. Currently running a WIN 10 system, so not opposed to keep a PC-Based system if there are suggestions for gains to be had.

Must Have:

  • PHT/OpenPHT (can’t tolerate the nav on PMP)
  • HD-Audio via HDMI (FLAC, DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD)
  • High-Bitrate Support for Full Blu-Ray Rip Playback
  • Physical IR Remote Support
  • Easy to Open app via remote (pref would be to load directly into PHT, in fact, I’d be fine if PHT is the only app that ran on this device)
  • Keyboard/Mouse interaction close to zero after initial setup

Nice to have:

  • Low Power to leave on all the time (<10 watts at idle)
  • Smaller than a PC
  • Low initial cost (<$100)
  • Atmos/DTS-X Audio Support
  • H.265 Playback
  • 4K Playback now or in the future
  • High likelihood of future development and support

My current PC system gives me everything on the must have, and most on the Nice to Have, but looking for smaller, less complicated to operate, and less power intensive. Does RasPlex or Odroid do what I’m looking for? Other Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

For your price range and wanted specs the Odroid-C2 is the one you want.

That’s what I was thinking based on what I was reading in other threads. Just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t missing an Odroid alternative.

Will have to take this project on once I get a little time. Just love the idea of a simple, low-cost, full-featured Plex appliance.
