The Future of the ChapterDB.org Mirror

Hi, friends.

I am very grateful to Plex for maintaining a mirror of the old ChapterDB.org database. I am wondering if there were any thoughts toward creating a new version of this site (or if Plex had approached anyone else to take it over). Have there been any internal discussions on the future of the ChapterDB?

I think this would be a worthwhile project as I know I would love to contribute content (I’m working hard to enter my titles by hand right now). I’m not sure if there’s anyway to make chapter naming an automatic feature of Plex or not, but, either way, I’m sure we’d all like to make sure our media is encoded with the appropriate chapter data.

I think this would be a great value-add service to the suite of Plex services, and I expect it wouldn’t take a lot of time to get up and running.

I wanted to touch base here again and see if anyone has any insight as to the roadmap for ChapterDB.org. Is the Plex team looking for volunteers to take on this project?

Thanks again to the Plex Team for keeping a mirror of the ChapterDB site. Does anyone have any insight as to a plan beyond simply hosting the static archive?
