I’ve been getting a 400 error.
chapterdb.org has been offline for over a year. Unknown why it is offline or if/when it will be back.
Plex has an archive copy at chapterdb.plex.tv. It is read-only, meaning no new additions, so chapters for recent movies are not available.
From mid-2019: Went offline due to lack of funds:
chapterdb.plex.tv was down with a 400 error. I don’t know why that site has to be read-only.
Seems to be back online.
It’s read-only because Plex is not continuing the service of chapterdb.org – I suppose they only got permission(?) to host this archive of the old website.
While the site appears to work, the API returns 400 Bad Request. Has the API been discontinued or changed? If the API is no longer going to work, then I want to remove this from my app.
I’ve asked around a bit… from what I could find, Plex keeps hosting a read-only copy of the old ChapterDb data… no APIs etc. – so I consider it unlikely it ever worked while connected to plex.tv. If that somehow happened for you, you must have had a very lucky shot
It definitely used to work, and worked for a long time. Not sure when it stopped working, but something changed. It would be nice is someone who was involved with the hosting could look at this.
