When using the mobile app on android the videos don’t load, and Plex just displays the loading circle indefinitely.
This occurs while on my home network as well as remotely. I do not have any issues on other devices that I use, only my android phone.
The only way I have managed to get the videos to play is if I allow Plex to open an external player (such as VLC media player), although this is not ideal.
I have exactly the same problem. I had the app work once or twice but never again. I can view content on my laptop. I can even login on my Samsung s21 ultra browser and play a movie from plex but when I make full screen it crashes the browser. I had to pay for functionality that doesn’t work. I start the movie and it just keeps showing the buffer circle. No data is actually being transfered and the plex server does not show that anything is being played. It just keeps circling.
Yes mine is exactly the same, I can play it from the browser, interestingly enough mine is also an S21 Ultra! Really hope somebody figure’s out a fix or it gets noticed and remedied in the next update, it’s really frustrating.
Found a work around. In settings - > advanced - > Player - use external player. enable play with an external application.
Some files may not be supported by the native Samsung video app so you will need to download vlc. I then got an error of location not found but after a few tries it worked. It did play another video flawlessly. Definitely a plex app issue that won’t play videos properly.
