The music library has a feature where, when you’re browsing an artist’s page, at the bottom there’s a “More Albums By” section, which displays albums by that artist shared by your friends on their servers.
However, this feature is currently broken on both Plex Web versions 4.128.1 and 4.125.1, as well as on Plex for Mac version 1.91.0.129-1cd63c1d.
The specific issue is that each time you launch Plex Web or Plex for Mac, the “More Albums By” section only fetches additional albums by the artist from the first artist page you opened. When you visit pages for other artists afterward, it continues to display albums from the first artist. This is illustrated in the following image.
Each artist’s “More Albums By” section displays additional albums by Taylor Swift instead of albums by the corresponding artist. This occurs because the first artist page I opened after launching Plex for Mac was Taylor Swift’s page.
However, other clients such as iPhone or Android TV do not experience this issue, only Plex Web does. This problem has been ongoing for some time, and it is hoped that the bug will be fixed soon.
Additionally, the “Artists You Might Like” feature also exhibits the same issue. Under normal circumstances, each artist should recommend different artists, but currently, all recommendations are from the first artist’s “Artists You Might Like” list.
Alright, thank you. You really should have a dedicated bug report and tracking section in the forum, and display the processing status for each report, such as known issue, fixing, fixed, planned, etc., because many bugs submitted in the forum now cannot get a response from the staff, and users will be very confused.
1.105.1.257-3bc35ab9, Not fixed yet. I hope this old bug can be fixed before your new app version is released, because I won’t be upgrading to your Plex Experience Preview app with its new design.
