Server Version#: 1.41.2.9200 (using official Plex docker in unraid)
Using Radarr, no issues with many other titles getting picked up. But somehow this folder (with season folders inside) is not getting picked up.
How does one debug the actual cause? Seems weird that it isn’t able to just for this particular one.
Also side question: Is there also a simple app or Plex debug tool inside the web app to debug and scan a folder to simulate what scan results it will show? Can’t believe there is no such tool yet given there are many reported issues and a self service troubleshooting tool might help diagnose some issues
I just made a test directory and dropped short mp4 into it. Plex picked it up. My guess is there a naming issue or maybe there is embedded tags in you files.?
If copy a test file into your Orville directory, does it get detected?
It’s not needed. There are rules. If you follow them, and tell whatever 3rd-party tools you use to observe them as well, there are rarely issues.
At least 90% of all reported failures can be attributed to not following the rules.
Another 5% to downloading/ripping directly into the media folder which is being monitored by Plex. So avoid that.
The rest can be caused by the above mentioned access permissions fail and other reasons (like e.g. a genuine mistake on one of the metadata sources which Plex uses.)

Not sure if that counts as being found, but I don’t see it in Plex (not showing in unmatched filter too)
Series is managed in Sonarr, and the path used is the same path as all other tv series.
I thought it may be due to some DB issue so I ran DBRepair and no changes still. Not sure why Plex doesn’t want to display the item if it can detect it..
AH HA. Look at your filters, you are looking for “Unmatched” shows, plex may have seen the show and properly matched it, which means that filter will not display it
Unfortunately a search reveals the same - no matches I showed that specific filter as matches are sometimes in there and forgotten… (unable to search via title)
Is there a way to read the DB to see what title name it is stored under? Or to search via tvdb id (I know match is possible but this seems not)?
Figured out why. I am using unraid, and it combines cache+array drives as 1 single logical view, and Plex was monitoring the actual folders on the main array, while I found out the Orville was actually stuck in the cache drive. Hence while the ‘tree’ commands showed everything, it was going into the cache and not being moved for some reason. Moving it to main drive array worked. We can mark this as resolved. Thanks!
