The '--scan' operation is deprecated and will be removed in future versions of Plex Media Server

has plex improved the builtin scanning when paired with radarr or sonarr?
or do i have to stop updating plex for now on?
the way plex scans in media after a call from a download client is; it triggers a full scan of the library.?
now that i think of it. will radarr and sonarr be able to do this

If you have :

  1. Update automatically
  2. Partial scan

why do you need to do a full scan?

I use Radarr/Sonarr.

PMS monitors the movie and TV directories.
When new content is placed after they complete their import task, PMS fires and automatically scans just that file and updates as it should.

I have no need for manual intervention.

because i use mounts and 1. Update automatically doesnt work

Have you used the API? It’s much more reliable

http://[PMS_IP_ADDRESS]:32400/library/sections/29/refresh?path=/Users/plexuser/Movies/Media/Movies/1080p&X-Plex-Token=YourTokenGoesHere

down near the bottom.

You can use a CURL call in a Sonarr/Radarr Connector
