The server is unreachable After Having to Reinstall Win10

Recently Window 10 decided to vomit on itself which resulting in me having to reinstall Windows 10. After I reinstalled the OS I reinstalled Plex Media Server. I associated everything with the my original account information. I’ve made sure that the drive letter that has all my media is the same as before. Unfortunately now, my Plex server is now showing as “Unavailable”.

I do not have a backup of the Plex data from before the crash, so I’m not able to restore it.

Does anyone know how I can get Plex to recognize my media now? I’d rather not spend all the time recreating all the libraries and correcting thumbnails, backgrounds, poster, etc.

may be drive letter / path for the Local App Data changed

Have a look at the registry area
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server and see if there is an entry named LocalAppDataPath - if there is, check that the path is valid.

Does the Plex Media Server.exe show as running in windows task manager after launching or does it crash out?

The default Local App Data path is C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local where a Plex Media Server folder gets created.
See if there are any logs within
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Logs

The drive letter is the same.

There is no registry entry for “LocalAppDataPath”.

There are logs there.

When I reinstalled Windows 10 my SSD had to be completely wiped. So I do not have access to the old logs, registry entries, or data to compare to.

lets have a look at them

Is the Plex Media Server.exe showing as running in task manager ?
If it is, then copy out the Logs folder and zip the copy and attach

In the registry is the PlexOnlineUser the same plex.tv user that you are now using in Plex Web?

Plex Media Server.exe is running.
Logs attached.
The user information all matches up. (It’s all the same)

Plex Media (9.9 MB)

I wasn’t sure if there would be a fix, or how long it would take, so I’ve already started manually redoing my Libraries.

The logs to check would have been ones for when the server was unavailable when attempting to connect to it.

The logs i am seeing which cover period Mar 17, 2019 20:27 to 20:56 show a server that is accessible and is having its libraries setup and scanned

So there is nothing to investigate for your original problem from the logs supplied

That is correct. I have no way to get the logs from the server that is unavailable. Since I that drive that it was on got completely wiped.

Thanks for the help. I’ll just work on getting everything set back up.
