THE STAND (2020) keeps getting combined with (1994)

I have these shows clearly named:

the Stand (2020)
the Stand (1994)

Inside their respective folders, I have SEASON 01, then inside this folder, I have the episodes. Is it because the The Stand 1994 is considered a mini movie or something?

Any advice on how to stop Plex from combining the files?

Mind sharing your specific file organization / names?

The following naming should work fine with Plex:

TV Shows   <- the folder linked to your tv-show library
  The Stand   <- 1994 version
    Season 01
      The Stand - s01e01 - The Plague.ext
      The Stand - s01e02 - The Dreams.ext
      The Stand - s01e03 - The Betrayal.ext
      The Stand - s01e04 - The Stand.ext

  The Stand (2020)
    Season 01
      The Stand (2020) - s01e01 - The End.ext
      The Stand (2020) - s01e02 - Pocket Savior.ext
      The Stand (2020) - s01e03 - Blank Pages.ext
      The Stand (2020) - s01e04 - The House of the Dead.ext
      The Stand (2020) - s01e05 - Suspicious Minds.ext
      The Stand (2020) - s01e06 - The Vigil.ext
      The Stand (2020) - s01e07 - The Walk.ext
      The Stand (2020) - s01e08 - The Stand.ext
      The Stand (2020) - s01e09 - Coda - Frannie in the Well.ext

Where .ext refers to the file extension; the episode names after the sXXeYY pattern are optional and will be ignored by Plex.

I am having the same issue. The new “The Stand (2020)” is showing in with the 1994.
I have them set up the same as tom80H suggested to begin with. Here is my order.
TV Shows:
The Stand (2020)
Season 1
The Stand (2020) - s01e01
TV Shows:
The Stand (1994)
Season 1
The Stand (1994) - s01e01

The new 2020 show will not show up under it’s own folder and shows up in with the old 1994 version.

Are those mp4/m4v files with embedded metadata?
I just added 2 fake videos to a playground library on my server following my example above. Plex added those shows just fine as 2 separate shows.

What agent are you using for that library and what version of PMS do you have installed?

Thanks for the reply! The files are not mp4 they are mkv and I’m currently running the latest PMS version 1.21.1.3830 and my agent is TVDB. I’ve tried renaming a few different ways and still no new folder showing up for the new 2020 show. I may try removing the 1994 folder only leave the new one and see if it will show up then. Any other ideas? Thanks!

I removed the 1994 folder, leaving only the New Show, then I fixed the match manually. Then I put the 1994 version back and re-scanned and that did it. I don’t know why it would not do it automatically. But I have them showing correctly now.

I put the 1994 version in with the movies.
