Server Version#: DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 4
Player Version#: 1.32.8.7639
I was using it yesterday and for some reason I refreshed my PLEX database and my subtitle files didn’t detect the .ass or .ssa subtitle files.
.chi.ass or .zho.ass both tried to detect the subtitle file.
And it’s not just one animation, it’s several. i need help!~~~
When I refresh, the presence of .ass and .ssa subtitle files for the animations I’ve encountered prevents my server from detecting the subtitle files.
I am at a loss and in need of technical support. Should I reinstall DSM PLEX server or take a different approach? Please advise.
this is my log
Plex Media Server.log (2.5 MB)
- disable “Verbose” logging
- which agent has been selected in the properties of this Plex library?
- Please post the first ~20 lines from the Plex XML info of an affected episode.
- I have already disabled ‘Verbose’ logging.

I have already disabled ‘Verbose’ logging. Is there anything else I should add? This issue has been causing me quite a bit of trouble. Many of my anime files come with .ssa or .ass subtitle files
You are using the old, deprecated agent. You won’t be able to use all Plex features with this one.
Server Settings - Agents - Shows - The Movie Database
enable the line “Local Media Assets (TV)”
Then Refresh Metadata of the whole series.
