Apologies for the delayed response. Could you provide what subtitle format is being used and possibly a photo of what you are seeing with the subtitles?
Only certain subtitle formats you can control the placement of because advanced formats handle the placement themselves such as ASS formats. You are able to control the placement of SRT formats. You have also not provided me with an example of what you are seeing.
I want to use this topic to address the same issue on both Samsung and LG (probably it’s the same on other brands). I’m using only external SRT subtitles, so no transcoding. The possitions are limited to right at the bottom, right in the middle and right at the top (the last two are useless). When I play a 1.77:1 or 1.85:1 video it’s not a big deal, but when the movie is 2.35:1 (black bars on bottom and top) the subs are on the black bar which is annoying. Add more precise possition options. For example LG’s internal media player has a lot more possitions for the subtitlies and I can place them inside the frame of a 2.35:1 movie. When you go to a cinema and the movie is in 2.35:1 format the subs are inside the frame not bellow the screen… Thank you in advance!
