It doesn’t seem to resonate as much as you were hoping 
Most players allow some level of manipulation for text based subtitles – however that’s usually limited to what you have ruled out as a solution (Settings > Subtitles > Subtitle position).

side note… there exists a feature suggestion that asks for better subtitle manipulation options (offset, color and position manipulation)
Indeed a big problem we cannot move the subtitle / or control under the line … only we can subtitle top. The middle - lower … that’s too bad

To be fair… you post isn’t giving much basis to follow-up on. You basically just say “it’s not working, fix it!”.
In order to get somebody to support you might want to provide some more information as for what is wrong and how you want to see it fixed (e.g. expected behavior vs. current behavior). It’ll also always help if you include some technical details on your setup – e.g. but not limited to version of Plex Media Server, what Plex client/version you’re using, what type of subtitles this is about (embedded or external files; subtitles derived from an online source; SRTs vs. image based subtitles…).
Maybe you want to include some more of those information in your parallel post on that subtitle discussion
There is no problem / we are waiting in the next release to fix the translation problem and to set a new option to determine the appropriate place for translatio
If the problems are not fixed … I apologize to you, I will delete the application … and head to other applications … because we wait a lot but without results and without repairs

It’s really annoying for me bc I have a 3:2 aspect ratio tablet, so the subtitles appear MUCH lower than I want it to be. Just give us the option to put subtitles in bottom of video instead of bottom of display please!

Just started my Plex journey with new android tv and since I have some HDR movies in my library I noticed that subtitles are extremely bright to the point of unwatchable in HDR, went to change subtitle color and to my surprise there is no dark grey option to mitigate this only light gray blended etc which don’t work on displays that can push 1000+ nits, one other player that I use for internal playback even has RGB wheel for subtitle color but honestly dark gray is enough to fully resolve the issue, for example RGB (127,127,127). Also as OP suggested subtitle position needs more vertical manipulation.
Please add subtitle reposition feature, its super needed feature!
