Theme music and trailers

Hi,

I have been using Plex for 2 years now.
I remember previously that when I go to a movie or TV series on the GUI, its theme music was playing. I lost that feature somehow.
I don’t know why I lost it. Maybe a setting, maybe change of player, maybe it was removed with a version update.
I had not cared about it then, but now I want to enable it. How can I achieve this ?
is it removed ?

same situation with trailers. how can I see trailers ?

thx

Themes only ever worked in TV libraries, not movies. The setting is still there. In Plex Web, go to Settings > Plex Web General:

For Trailers, again in Plex Web, go to the Settings > Extras area. There are settings here to define which trailers to find.

Edit your Movie library and go to the Advance page to enable trailers to play before any movie in that library.

(We do seem to have lost the setting of how many trailers to play. hmm…)

That is not a library setting. It’s a client setting. For Plex Web, it’s under “player”.

And automatic trailers are a Plex Pass-feature.
Unless you are supplying your own trailer videos, you won’t see them without Plex Pass.

Your post did solve one thing, though. The selection for how many trailers to play is in Settings/Plex Web/Player.

I never seem to catch that. :frowning:

Ah you are right. Read your comment wrong. That setting of if to play or not is a library setting.

So there are three things a Plex Pass owner can do to play other-than-locally-stored trailers:

  1. Enable Cinema Trailers in each Movie library (Edit library/Advanced).
  2. Define options (if you don’t like the defaults) of which trailers you want your server to provide (Settings/Extras).
  3. In each client app, select how many trailers to play on that client (in Plex Web, Settings>Plex Web>Player).

thanks for all the information.
seems I won’t be able to use trailers (no plex pass)
