Plex Pass trailers have disappeared since update

I recently signed up for the Plex Pass and have been enjoying the trailers feature for all of my movies. However, today I updated to Plex v.1.16.3.1402 and I have noticed that I no longer get the option to play cinematic trailers to the movies in my library even though the ‘Find trailers ad extras automatically’ option is active in my Plex movie settings (and it is top of order preference).

In short, I had cinematic trailers for all my movies but since today’s update, I don’t.

Any ideas?

Can you double-check the player configuration?
For Plex Web this should be under https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/web/player (Extras > Cinema Trailers to Play Before Movies).
Other clients have a similar setting (e.g. under “User Experience”).

Thanks for the response. In answer to you question I have that option set to ‘None’ (as I always have). I do not want cinema trailers to play before the movies. I would like it as before, when I click on a movie it shows me a page with the synopsis, cast, etc… there used to be a little film-reel icon next to the play movie button that would play a trailer to the said movie and the page would also display links to some extra content but that is no longer available.

What client are you using?
I’ve just checked and those trailers still show up as usual for me… I’m also running the latest beta version of Plex (1.16.3.1402).

Here’s an example from Plex Web (both on 3.104 and 3.108):

Same on Plex Media Player (version 2.38):

The trailers have vanished from both the web server and the LG TV client.

You photo also alerted me that my Rotten Tomatoes score has also vanished. Perhaps something has gone wrong with my settings.

Is it all movies or just Bill and Ted?. Did that particular movie used to have it then it was gone? Sometimes our trailer provider just does not have the rights to a particular trailer. If recently added there might have just been a glitch in retrieving

Only the Plex Movie agent can get trailers and rotten tomatoes. It has a percentage there for rating which generally means that movie was using the TheMovieDB as its primary agent but it depends on how you have it all set up.

So I would start by making sure it was matched with PlexMovie. in the ellipses menu on the top right choose get info, then on the bottom left of the window that opens hit “View XML”. In that XML towards the top you can look at the GUID to see which primary agent was used. It will look like this

guid="com.plexapp.agents.imdb://tt1179933?lang=en" This is a movie matched with Plex Movie
guid="com.plexapp.agents.themoviedb://245?lang=en" This is a movie matched with TheMovieDB

Thanks. I have just refreshed meta data for all the movies in my library and that seems to have fixed the issue.

Thank you for your support.
