There are no items in this library

I’ve been using Plex for years, no issues. I have my files stored on a Synology NAS run Plex on my Windows 10 box. Today I decided to play some shows from my TV Shows category but everything was missing and it says “There are no items in this library”. I thought this was strange, I haven’t made any changes recently at all. I am able to access the NAS just fine (through Windows Explorer) and play videos. I decided to delete the category then rescan, figured something was up. Welp, I can see Plex going through all of the subdirs, but it still results in “There are no ideam in this library” !! How do I fix this?

i fixed it by refreshing all metadata…however this evening I check and yet again all items are missing. I tried refreshing meta-data again, this time no dice at all. I even tried uninstalling, then reinstalling but it’s not picking up any of my media ugh

I have this same issue. I’m also using a Windows 10 Plex server with Libraries that pull from folders on a Synology NAS. Plex worked previously with the exact same file and folder structure.

I’m running the Windows 10 Fall Creators update, this issue happened right after I installed it. I’ve tried refreshing meta data, adding new folders, nothing works so far. I see it scanning folders, but then nothing appears in the library.

I smell a ‘Browser Issue’ - having to do with browser caches and such.

See what happens if you use Plex Media Player:
Top of the Forum, Downloads, Get an App.

Thanks for the suggestion. I should have mentioned - I have the same issue with the mobile app, desktop app, and remote client Friends see an empty library too.

The Library is gone and Plex refuses to rebuild it, even though it flashes up folders when I tell it to Scan.

Same issue here after installing Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (1709). Media files stored on a synology nas and libraries all show no items found.

Media scanner logs show this entry for each in the directory:
Oct 27, 2017 09:25:21.623 [12172] WARN - Error scanning directory, we’ll skip and continue: boost::filesystem::directory_iterator::construct: An unexpected network error occurred:

I too have this issue. Yet to find a resolution. I have allowed PLEX MEDIA SERVER through the firewall (exe) and “TCP: 32400 (for access to the Plex Media Server) [required]”, I’ve also allowed Plex media server exe access to all folders using the new Controlled Folder Access feature. Next step is turning that feature off and trying again.

I’m having the same issue since updating to Fall Creators Update (1709)

I am also experiencing this. I am getting these types of errors during scan:
Oct 28, 2017 21:02:55.234 [8316] WARN - Error scanning directory, we'll skip and continue: boost::filesystem::directory_iterator::construct: An unexpected network error occurred: Path\To\File

Something that is weird, is that this is only an issue in my TV library, and my other libraries seem to be ok. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that my TV library gets updated more frequently?

Its affecting my TV library and another of my movie libraries as well. My main movie library is fine which is strange. All three are at the same location. It has to be something with the latest Windows update.

I just tried uninstalling the latest security update for October and that didn’t help me.

Have you submitted logs to Plex support yet? I have been searching everywhere to see if if its widespread. Its so annoying not being able to see my library. I even tried moving files to new folders and creating a “test” library but that didn’t work either.

I will try to get it to them in the morning. One of my friends has
installed the latest windows update and his library is working as expected
at the moment. Very curious stuff.

What is the process for getting logs to support? I was trying to find that on their contact page.

For me I removed my UNC entry for the folder location in Plex and changed it full IP address which fixed it.

That worked too, but it removed ALL of my watched statuses, which I CANNOT have.
I’ve attached my log files.

It looks like It just sets them as un-watched until it is finished processing the show. This can work, but I would REALLY like this to be looked at. It can’t be directly related to a UNC path because I have other libraries on a UNC path that work fine.

No luck after replacing the UNC with an ip (i.e. \diskstation\movies becomes \192.168.1.34\movies) in my case.

You may have to use two slashes in the beginning.

I did use two slashes - the forum strips two slashes from posts for some reason.
