Hey everyone, hoping someone can help me out with an issues I am having. Plex DVR was working great for a long time. However, now I am getting “there was a transcoder error” on all of my recordings. The transcode feature in the DVR settings has always been off. No other settings have been changed and live TV still works perfectly. Any suggestions?
You could rollback to a previous version. I switched to another server I have which is running Plex Media Server 1.5.7 for my recordings - no problems with that version. My main server running Version 1.7.5 was failing to record properly. There is a newer version out, but am hesitant to update and switch back over to my main server until I know the DVR function is working properly.
Thanks astrofisher, was your 1.7.5 machine running on Windows Server 2016 by chance? And on that machine was live tv working for you? I find it odd that I can watch live tv fine but the recordings are not working. That would mean to me that it is not an issue with the WinTV Dual HD device but with plex itself.
The 1.7.5 is running on Win 10. Don’t know when I first noticed the issue, but it was after Plex changed to recording to mkv instead of ts. I run with the transcode feature off as well.

Yes, 1.5.7 seems to be working as well.
Anyone know how to disable that “new version is available nag”?
where can i download Plex Media Server 1.5.7 ?
@raghu01 I have made several posts on other threads outlining how to download previous versions from Plex Server. Here is a link to one of them:
