After Update from 1.13.9.5456 the DVR failed to record shows on several channels (some worked fine). The recording started, but failed after about 10-15 seconds.PMS told me there was a “Transcoder Error”. Switching “Transcoding” in the DVR settings on or off didn’t change anything. I also tried to deactivate all old rec timetables and made new ones.
Sometimes recordings started again, when I tuned into LiveTV while recording. After the recording failed, ist sometimes started again, as soon as I tuned into LiveTV for the same show. Sometimes the recording then succeeded, but not always.
Read in Forum about issues of vers 1.14.5465 (Plex Media Server). Only downgrade to 1.13.9.5456 solved it for me.
Tried Upgrade to 1.14.0.5468 und 5470, because it looked like the problem could have been solved (1.9.6 - New Issue: Transcoder Error on One Channel)
but again many recordings failed.
Now downgraded to 1.13.9 again…Recordings work fine again.

This morning installed a new Plex server on a clean macos Mojave Install. Nothing else, just system an a new Plex server with new library folder and a newly installed DVR.
I used Plex Server 1.14.0.5470 to check whether the problem still appears with a clean system and a clean server install. And Bam!, it did fail again.
The same thing: DVR recordings started and ended after about 5-15 seconds with a “transcoder error”
Nice to know I’m not the only one. Would be good to hear from Plex support if they are able to reproduce these error so the Devs can dig into it and figure out how to fix it.
