Plex Pass DVR feature is absolutely BROKEN and USELESS !!

ALL recordings fail now, every freaking one of them fail. I am running the most recent version, 1.8.0.4109 and I can not get ANY recordings anymore. A month ago or so, it was very reliable and I had no problems or complaints. Now, without fail, every single recording, FAILS.

If there is anything I can count on is that my recordings never work anymore. I need to timeshift the local evening news and it hasn’t recorded anything in weeks.

All I ever get is “There was a transcoder error”.

I was running it without any issues on my Mac then in desperation I deleted the DVR and moved it to my other Mac and I still get the same failures on it as well.

Where can I download and OLD copy of the DVR software? I need to go back 4 to 6 weeks on the versions, maybe older until I can get back to a version that doesn’t SUCK.

If you search the forums there have been several threads where johnm_ColaSC details how to download older versions from Plex.

It’s hilarious that there are dozens of forums posts of people trying to download the old versions of Plex server to actually get the DVR to work properly yet today Plex marketing announces that DVR IS OUT OF BETA

Yes, the new 1.8x version has worked QUITE well for me these last few days. There has been a dramatic reliability improvement. You should try it out.

I was running the latest, up to the minute version and it was trashing recordings 100% of the time.
I rolled back to version 1.7.2.x and magically the DVR works fine again.

But not to worry, I’m not renewing when my monthly pass expires in two weeks.
After their little DATA-■■■■ stunt I’m done with Plex.
