Player produces error:

There was an error loading the timeline for this library

Please visit our forums if you continue to experience problems

when attempting to show timeline for Photos. Photos display in Recommended and Library views without apparent issues. I have tried Optimize, Clean, Empty Trash, and Scan. No change. Also tried stopping and restarting from DSM Package Center. Also no change.

Anny suggestions for what to try next?

I’m having the same issue. Timeline crashes for me on apple tv, iphone, android, web… I have a large amount of photos > 50k and Plex can’t handle int in any client. Frustrating and disappointing.

N.b.: I, too, have a considerable number of photos. 80k+/-. Maybe that’s part of the issue here?!?

Just tested Photos Timeline from iPadOS Plex app, v. 8.2. “Loading” spins and spins. After a few minutes, I went back to the home screen. When I came back to Plex, it crashed.

Same here. Plex can’t handle more than few thousand items. How come…?

DITTO: I’m having the same issue. Timeline crashes for me on PC web and tv. I also have a large amount of photos > 90k, but I have a QNAP NAS
