This message has been on for DAYS and won't go away: There was an unexpected error loading this library"

Server Version#:latest version as of 10/6/20
Player Version#:same

That is almost totally meaningless. You need to provide the actual version numbers also you need to provide logs. Without that info there can be no meaningful answer to your question.

I guess then the error message is totally meaningless too!

That message is fairly generic and can result from multiple root causes. The version information and logs requested will help inform the troubleshooting steps you should take. You could also provide some additional information such as whether or not this ever worked with this client/server combination and, if so, when it began failing. Also, do you see the same error when accessing the same library from any other clients (Plex Web, for example).

I can tell you this happens when PLEX cannot load the Main part of the home screen when it has nothing to load. With nothing Pinned to the Home screen you get this a lot.
I have a short video in it’s own section that is always pinned. It works so I was not going to fight.
I just moved to Windows 10 Pro. I can tell you I have noticed the lag time has increased by 3.
Can’t pin it down right now but I have had Plex actually get lost after 45 minutes. The timeout is increased so much that even turning on debug has caused my CPU to go into overdrive.

Running Latest Plex Version and I will test for several more days before the results are in.
Sorry to bust your bubble. Plex has gotten really involved with everything other than a server.

Update: Plex Version 1.20.2.3402 fixed the response time greatly. Requests seem to pop up in 2-3 seconds. System ran all night and this morning was still showing online and responsive.
Even Ending the Server in Task Manager and restarting now works without rebooting.
Thanks.

Now the hard Question: Is there a way to make a PLEX Lite?

I have deleted all my folders and started from scratch and plex cannot find a folder with a single movie in it. I have renamed in many different ways. with a space, with a dot with the year, without the year, with an underscore and without one. I attach a redacted copy to show the folder name. One that every other source seems to find just fine EXCEPT Plex. Kodi, Jellyfin, Emby, xbox media player and MANY more. Only Plex cannot find this folder and SINGLE file. I’d like to know what plex defense excuse come now. It’s amazing that as "perfect as plex is it can’t find a single folder or file.

As the message says, the error is “unknown”. We will need to investigate to identify the problem.

What folders did you delete? Media, Plex Media Server (PMS) program, PMS AppData, client program?

I don’t see your attachment.
