Last August, I installed PMS (Plex Media Server) on my Synology DS218.
Films and other series could be added.
For 2-3 weeks, I was able to take advantage of the Plex “services” on the computer.
Since the end of September, I have simply been unable to access the MPS web application.
Whether I go through the DMS (from Synology) => Plex Media Server or type directly Address_IP_NAS:32400/web (internal network), I receive the same response:
This page does not work 192.168.100.58 did not send any data. ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE
Since this problem appeared, I have done several tasks:
uninstall PMS from the NAS
reinstalling PMS on the NAS manually (latest version 1.20.1.3252-xx)
opening and authorization of Plex ports on the NAS (Active firewall on the NAS)
tests performed by disabling the NAS Firewall, ports, allow everything, etc.
Plex with read/write access to the NAS
I specify that both the NAS and the computer are on the same internal network, in LAN (no WiFi).
I have tried with several computers, several OS (Windows, Linux) and several web browsers (Chrome, FireFox, Opera, Edge): always the error “This page does not work”.
I can access the Plex account on plex.tv, but I can’t access it locally on my PMS: so I can’t see the films, series and collections that I introduced in August.
I can access via the Plex application on Android (Smartphone & Tablet).
The internal network has not been modified since the beginning.
I’ve browsed the net to find a solution, but nothing. I’m asking for your help to find the solution to the problem.
Latest version of Plex Media Server is now installed (manually: 1.20.3517). I think Synology support has installed the last in the Package center (1.18.5.2309)… They tried to solve the problem, but not able.
The PMS is Running on the Synology (green text).
The modem/router has been rebooted. WLAN switched OFF on modem/router.
The PMS (Synology NAS) and computer are on the same sub-net (the Smartphones and Tablet to).
Normally, I try to access PMS (from Computer) by typing http://NAS_IP_ADDRESS:32400/web.
I tried to open Plex with FireFox, Chrome, Opera, Edge.
I tried with inactivated firewall on computer and NAS: always the same error:
This page does not work
192.168.100.58 did not send any data.
ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE
Wifi activated: I can access via the Plex app on the smartphone and tablet…
If I am right, normally I have to enable/disable the secure connection via the Plex web app?
And if I cannot access to the Plex web app, I guess, the only possibility is to modify this secureConnections parameter in the Preferences.xml file?
What does exaclty mean the secure connection?
https and a certificate?
I will try to disable the secure connection through the xml file
Thank you for the explanation.
Now I have changed the xml file and YES! now I can login again to the MPS web with http://NAS_IP_ADDRESS:32400/wb.
Thank you for your help
