Looks like a quad core N3450, 8 gig ram, a PCIe2 slot, 2x1gbe ports, and 2 6gig sata. I figure you throw a Quadro P2000 on that and it SHOULD be able to handle a solid 7-12 transcodes.

If you’re running Linux you’ll have issues with burning subtitles.
Burning in subtitles happens on the CPU and is single threaded. Celeron CPUs have low power cores, so they have trouble burning in subtitles in real time. See this post in the Synology section. AFAIK, it applies to all Linux systems.
I do not know how subtitle burning happens on Windows.
Wow, this is EXACTLY the type of response I was hoping to get. Real world no BS stuff. This is an awesome point, so if you do not have subtitled stuff then this solution might work, but any subtitles would kill it. This is great stuff.
