TIDAL add to Plex Music Library becomes AAC instead of FLAC

I’ve just got a subscription to Tidal and i really love the integration with Plex, but to my suprise when I add music from Tidal to my Plex Music Library it becomes AAC instead of FLAC.

I’ve read that this could happen if you had a tidal subscriptions via Tidal and not via Plex, so i’ve changed that. But still it adds the albums as AAC 320 and not FLAC. When playing the file via plexamp it shows as AAC.

Is there a fix for this (I couldnt find a lot of new info on this most is from a few years ago)

So there is nobody that has a clue how to fix this?

No idea how to fix, but I can confirm.

Checked to see if it was related to MQA, and it seems to happen no matter what. In other words, both sources labeled “master” and those that aren’t are becoming AAC.

Also confirm and hoping to find a fix. In Plexamp and Shield client both stream as AAC.

I used to have the $20 tidal plan and it streamed as FLAC then. When Tidal added hifi quality to the $10 plan I downgraded and it’s been playing library integrated albums as AAC 320 since then. If I play the album from the Tidal source (not in my library) in Plexamp it plays FLAC.

I’ve tested this yesterday, after the last beta update and it seems to work. When adding something from tidal to the libary plexamp now says it’s flac (with a tidal icon).

Should be fixed in Plexamp/Server in the next releases.
