I’ve signed up for Tidal through Plex but it only appears on my main Plex account, not on the managed users’ accounts.
I’ve de-linked, re-linked, re-authorized already.
Is this the way it’s supposed to work or is something wrong here?
Yes, this is the way it works. Tidal cannot be shared so your managed users are not able to get access.

I assume it makes no difference if one signs up separately for the Tidal family plan?
With the Tidal Family Plex, you can link each Tidal Family user to separate Plex users. This doesn’t work with managed users though.
