I am trying out Tidal with my Plex pass but for some reason it doesn’t show as working when I’m in Plex. I am definitely signed up and it says I have Tidal on my account settings, but all I get are the 30 second previews still, and it still directs me to sign up when I head to the music section (following that link tells me I am a member).
Oddly, through Microsoft Edge it gives me the full songs etc, but through Chrome, the app on my TV, and my firestick app, it doesn’t play ball.
Switch users back and forth.
Keep in mind that only the admin user can use Tidal.
Sometimes clients need a bit more coaxing, to pick up account changes:
sign out of your Plex account,
restart the client device
sign back in to the Plex account
Hi @OttoKerner - so if I understand this correctly:
Multiple users on Plex (and PlexAmp)
A Tidal family account (each of the Plex/PlexAmp users have their own Tidal account)
Only one user in Plex/PlexAmp can link Tidal?
Or am I reading this wrong (The family is using Plex, but I am having a harder sell on using PlexAmp with Tidal integration).
Only full plex.tv accounts can have a Tidal account linked to them.
So managed users are completely out.
And if you have a full plex account (but no own server), you can’t use the Tidal integration with a shared music library either.
Selecting Tidal as a media source in Plex and then playing from there directly is of course possible.
But that can also be done by using the native Tidal app.
New user here, I’m just setting a Plex server locally, but disappointing to learn the Tidal service is not better supported with Plex. I really have nothing to contribute other than to add my voice to say that I would gladly upgrade to the full license, but ONLY if Plex will provide better support for audio streaming services. I’m sure I’m not alone with my interest in high quality audio, so just adding my vote!
