Tidal-sourced tracks are always skipped in playlists built with custom filter

When I create a new ‘smart’ playlist using the custom filter options (in my premium Plex music library), and that playlist contains any Tidal-sourced tracks, the Tidal tracks are never played. Even when the tidal-sourced track is specifically clicked to play in that playlist, it immediately plays the next listed local library track.

I posted this problem a while back (Plex tidal integration), but it was buried in another thread, and I was hoping to highlight again because I hadn’t received any solutions. (or, even if I knew the Plex team knew about it … I’d be happy to know it’s not just me going crazy & they’re working on it). Maybe if a few others could reproduce & confirm it’s an issue?

I’m using: Chrome / Web Client 3.95.2; PMS Version 1.15.8.1163. The problem happens on the web client version and the iOS operating system using the iPhone version 5.15.1.

Here’s my example again that’s still valid:

I created a new smart playlist (“custom filtered list saved as a playlist”) in Plex with the following criteria (track rating greater than 3 stars & not played within the last year), which perfectly combines my personal library with tracks I’ve added to my library from Tidal.

The problem is that Plex won’t allow me to play any song from a Tidal source via this playlist… if I directly click on the Tidal song, it skips it & plays the next locally stored song.

So it looks like the playlist part is working perfectly – shows tracks from both sources, but it just won’t play the Tidal-sourced tracks. It’s been a lifelong dream to combine my local music library with a streaming source like this. And getting the playlist to randomize and play tracks from both sources would be awesome.

Thanks!

Agreed, it would be nice to at least have confirmation that this is a bug (surely it is??), and that it should be fixed in the near future.
Edit: using Plex app for Android. Tracks play fine via chrome.

@Ichibann, Thanks for posting.
Could you confirm: You’re saying that clicking on a Tidal-sourced track from within a smart playlist works in Chrome (actually plays the Tidal-sourced track)? If yes, what version of PMS and what operating system?

Looks like this problem has been fixed with Windows Server Version 1.16.4.1469. Thanks a ton to all the devs working on this one. Having this functionality to TRULY integrate Tidal with my local music library is the greatest invention since the original iPod.
