Tidal Subscription Confusion

So, I’m still exploring the Plex/Tidal relationship and I’ve reached a point of confusion. When I go to my subscriptions in Plex, I am told that I have a Tidal Premium subscription (which I think is actually Tidal HiFi based on the quality of the tracks I actually get, and reading other posts). I’m assuming Plex hasn’t gotten around to updating the names of the subscription services available based on my research?

My question is thus… What do I currently get with what I’m paying for, and what are the incentives to upgrade? I can’t find any info on why I would want the bigger service…

You should get flac in CD quality, while on local newtworks and WiFi.

  • AAC while on mobile networks.

For a Plex Pass holder, there are practically none.
The higher tariff would include the full Plex Pass features, while your current one only has a few music-related PP features.
Which is not relevant for you, because you already have the Plex Pass.

And the MQA “quality” is not available through Plex clients. (You can use the native TIDAL app if you are into that sort of thing.)

Thank you, Otto. Sums it up perfectly. Sounds like there’s no real reason for a PP subscriber to upgrade.
