The log (specifically Plex Media Server log) does not indicate any name change. This must be logged somewhere?
When watching the import process, I see the proper title is initially given to the movie. However, prior to scanning completion, the title is changed back to the original title, i.e. movie.2020.1080.blah.blah.blah.
What I’m recognizing here is that Plex initially takes the title of the filename, then it changes it to Description/Title found in the file Properties.
I don’t understand this.
Example/Steps:
Ripped DVD
Used TinyMediaManager to add to appropriate directory and properly title movie (NFO indicates correct title)
Plex doesn’t use .nfo’s except for a hint about proper matching.
Go to
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie (Legacy)
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase
Afterwards, Refresh Metadata of the affected items.
If your movie library already uses the new “Plex Movie” agent, do this instead: Edit your movie library
go to the ‘Advanced’ tab clear the check mark out of “Prefer local metadata”
Afterwards, Refresh Metadata of the affected items.
Something I now notice… I still have Plex Movie (Legacy) listed herein, not the new Plex Movie Agent. And, under Libraries/Movies… What should the Agent here be?
