When I add new items, most of the time I get unwanted single quotes in the title, sort title and summary fields. The sort title has a single quote at the end of the field but not the beginning. The other two fields have a single quote at the beginning and end. These show up in every player I use (web, iPad, Apple TV).
Looking at the XML code for these items, it clearly shows that the single quotes are embedded there, inside the normal XML double quotes… For example: title=“‘Episode Name’”, titleSort=“Sort Name’”, summary=“‘Summary text’”.
This seems like a bug. I’ve been adding a ton of new content lately, and I have to spend a lot of time removing these characters by editing every single episode’s info. It’s time-consuming and extremely tedious. It seems to me that these extra single quotes should not be there, and the scanner must be inserting them. I’d like to see this fixed. And I also need some way to scan all of my existing libraries to remove these characters.
I should point out that this also happens to movie entries as well as TV episodes. And it doesn’t happen every single time; I’d guess about 95% or so.
