”too many active streams” when playing content in Plex remote

Hi! I have a user that I have added to my friends to share content and whenever they try to play content remotely, we get “too many active streams”. There aren’t any streams at all, and we still get that. When trying from the internal network, it plays fine. Please also note there are other friends with access that aren’t having this issue. I’m also able to play content remotely without any issues with my account.

I removed him from the friends list and then re added him back after about 8 hours. Still no luck. My next move I think is to create a new account for him or delete the existing account and create a new one.

My Plex server is hosted on a Windows 10 device.

Does anyone else have any recommendations?

Tell him to stop using Chromecast.
If that’s not possible, you’ll have to raise the limit under
Settings - Server - Network - ‘Show Advanced’ - “Remote streams allowed per user”
to at least “2”.

Lol thanks. He doesn’t use Chromecast. It’s usually from the Apple TV app. And thanks I was looking all over for that setting. I had it set to 3, changed it to 10 and that may have done the trick. Not sure why 3 wasn’t working for him even though nothing else was playing. Thanks though!
