As my primary purpose for Plexconnect is to access the BBC iPlayer chanel, is it possible to set the top level option so that when plexconnect is selected on the ATV this channel is launched automatically, or as an alternative, that the channel list is shown as the default option.  The automatic launch of the channel being the preferred solution

Without this being a built in iOS feature in general I don't see how this could be accomplished. You could use a theme like falco, or cyberghost84 to pick a default tab but outside of that you may be out of luck. Also using CyberGhosts theme you can set your channels to display in your library tab. But autolaunching a channel during the start of PlexConnect isn't built into iOS.

a - start PlexConnect in channels section: edit PlexConnect.xml, line 8, by incrementing the Index given. Channels would be 1 or 2, depending of the tag "Playlists" being shown.

b - edit "application.js", line 658, to directly invoke the address for the iPlayer channel. You should be able to find that address somewhere in the logs after entering the iPlayer.

It just depends, how much you want to do by yourself. But that's the nice thing about "open source"... you can do whatever you like. :-D

Thanks for the advice. Using the falco theme, I could display the channels as the top level choice in the library tab and hide other options which pretty much gets me there

U should add the option to remove Library And Channels aswell... 

in my kids room he only have access to the shared library due to i want to limit him to violet movies so he has his own account.. and therefore i would like the option to remove the other tabs.. its awesome that we can remove shared and playlist, but library and channels to would be even more awesome ;)

DCBC if u want u can try my github.. i have pretty much the same version as ibaa (updated with his latest fixes 2 mins ago) but with some adds.. i have the option to remove whatever u want in the top level :)  and i have the settings arranged in a different way :)

I second that. More top level options (remove Library/Channels) would be awesome!

When sharing a server with another MyPlex account, and that person doesn't have a server of their own, those options would be very useful.

For the local libraries/channels it would make more sense to turn on require local authentication on your PMS and then log into MYPlex on the ATV with his account; removing the library/channel the way discussed above doesn't give any real security as he can just go in settings and re enable it, whereas he cannot authenticate as you using MyPlex without knowing your password and thus it achieves the same but in a proper secure way that is consistent with Plex Inc's approach.
