About the MyPlex Tab in Plexconnect.

Would it be possible to have the MyPlex tab disappear from the Nav bar if you are not connected to any other MyPlex Libraries? Not a big fan of a big almost empty page appearing as I move from Channels to Settings.

Sincerely,

The design police

Yeah... would be possible. But then, do we also want to remove Library and Channels if none are there. Stuck to "Settings" alone? Nobody would realize the possibilities?

Maybe we should have default pages eg for MyPlex verbiage around signing in under settings for shared/remote server access and for channels about adding channels through Plex-web or the desktop client?

@Baa: Well don’t remove Library and Channels then. I believe far more people will not use MyPlex than will not use Library or Channels. Far more.

Oh and I meant to add make them disappear as user configurable option.

Having some kind of informative and pleasing to look at interface in those tabs would definitely ameliorate the problem.

With this added I fully support f00b4r's solution.

Just to add to the discussion, one of the issues with the current implementation is that when you move to the MyPlex tab and see “Plexconnect: No MyPlex Library Sections Available” it reads as if there is an error occurring even if that is not the case. It creates the feeling of the software being incomplete.

Well... there are no sections available. :-)

I will add your hiding feature - you can't fight with the design police, can you?

Well... there are no sections available. :-)

Of course, that is why I said "as if". It is an emotional reaction rather than reasoned, but it is still real. Anyway, I am glad an option will be included. Thanks.
