Total mess in Ukrainian (UA) localization in plex web

Hi there,

There is a total mess in the Ukrainian localization of Plex web interface. This is a mix of Ukrainian, russian, and English phrases and should be fixed. If you have no resources for this - I believe there is a solid Ukrainian community that can help with this. My post is not the first regarding this topic. This one was closed without any response @ vlad220978
See some examples below:

Translations are actually done by the community. See Want to help translate/localize the Plex client apps? for details and info on how you can help.

Thanks, taking a look

Sent request to joint plex-web project.

@anon18523487 can you please help me with this or point me to someone, who can help? I already finished the translation for web-player and moved to plex-media-server, but some strange things are going on. See two screenshots I assigned to this reply. On the first one you can see Transcoder configuration page. Only few words are Ukrainian - the rest of the text on this page is russian. I checked the translation for “Transcoder temporary directory” line - and it is correct on transifex.com (see the second screenshot) and was added 6 years ago. Why Transcoder page uses wrong translation? And not only Transcoder, many others as well (Network settings, etc). Could it happen that wrong resources were used during the build process? Even if there is no Ukrainian translation for some elements, why russian, why not English? Need to fix this ASAP, I’m ready to help.

Are you using the latest PMS beta (1.31.1) which added the Ukrainian translations?

@drzoidberg33 latest, but not beta (1.31.0.6654). Is it available only on beta right now?

Yes, currently only in beta.

Okay, I will check it out, thanks. As I understood, since Ukrainian was not available in PMS, by default it uses russian instead, right? Not English?

Please note that changes you add to Transifix are not automatic. We need to pull these translations into the appropriate Plex project so there may be a delay. Also, I see you said you worked on the Plex-Web project. Some of those wordings come from Plex Media Server, so if you can help there too, that would be great.

Yes, I understand that it is not automatic. My question was “why are some fields, that were translated years ago still not included”. I don’t expect it immediately. Anyway, I will wait for the version with my translations and see, what works. I am already done with Plex Media Server as well. And there I see two translations (see the screenshot). Not sure if this is ok, but I completed both of them.
Also, may I ask you or someone responsible to create a Ukrainian translation for the Android app? Thanks.

Unfortunately, we had Ukrainian in Transifix but it was not used by PMS, so it didn’t pull anything before.

I just checked 1.31.1 and I see pretty much everything is translated. I can’t read Ukrainian (or Russian) so I can’t tell if the translations are correct, but I don’t see English.

I’m asking about the Android app.

It looks like it, I’m not entirely sure why.

Ukrainian has been added to the Android project.

@anon18523487 @drzoidberg33 thank you, guys!
