Trailer available in TheMovieDB.org but missing in PMS

I just enabled yesterday my PlexPass and now I’m looking around to understand better PMS.
My reference language is Italian.

I have one movie “5 è il numero perfetto” which is present in TheMovieDB.org and there you can find the trailer: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/571473-5-e-il-numero-perfetto?language=it-IT

In my PMS I have the movie correctly tagged with all metadata, but no trailer is available.

I cannot figure out why.

Same thing with another movie: “7 minuti”.
It is correctly tagged into my PMS.
It is present in TheMovieDB.org (www . themoviedb . org/movie/418399-7-minuti?language=it-IT).
In TheMovieDB.org you have the trailer.
I don’t have the trailer in my PMS.

Paying for PlexPass means receive a service. I don’t understand why in these two cases service is not available.
It is important to understand to decide if the PlexPass worths its money.

Any answers (possibly from official support) or sugestion is welcome.

Is this only missing for the movies you’ve linked (so trailers are showing for others) or do you miss trailers for all movies?

Have you configured the library to include extras/trailers?

  • click Edit on your library
  • go to the Advanced tab
  • check Find trailers and extras automatically (Plex Pass required)

For Plex to show those trailers, you might need to update the metadata of the library.

Trailers in Plex are not sourced from TheMovieDB. They are not licensed for this and Plex won’t scrape/steal them.
All trailers in Plex come from theinternetvideoarchive, which is not publicly browsable, so unfortunately you cannot determine if they have a certain trailer available.

I have this issue only on some few movies (mainly italian movies).
I had configured all correctly according to documentation.
