I’m a lifetime plexpass member and the trailers and extras were available before (a couple months ago is the last time I recall seeing them) but now they are missing. I have pms set to play 3 trailers before movies and that works, but I have no options for playing trailers for a specific movie. I’m running the current build for linux and I believe I have all the settings correct. I haven’t changed anything recently. I’ve looked in the web interface and also in the android app.
Can you check your movie library’s settings (Edit > Advanced > Find trailers and extras automatically (Plex Pass required)) if the function is enabled?
You can also check this out using Settings > Server > Agents > Movies > Plex Movie). If I remember correctly, this function is only available, when you’re using “Plex Movie” as the agent for your library.
I looked further back in my library and it seems I do in fact have trailers available for movies added prior to the beginning of September but nothing since then. So approximately 90 movies, all added in the last 4 months do not have trailers.
After checking settings over and over again, I ran a Refresh All Metadata on the library and finally have trailers for many of the movies that were missing but there are many more still missing. I’ve tried to Refresh Metadata on those movies individually but nothing changes. These are very popular movies, not obscure films. The trailers exist on IMDB. Any help would be appreciated.
try moving those setting inside agents up or down, i have same problem sometimes when i restart my server plex is not playing trailers (which i don’t understand why ?) this problem is like this for while, i mean why plex ? so try to put Plex Movie above Local media assets and restart your server and see if is working, i know that on windows is working but is a pain dealing with this since trailers are enabled, is like plex staff is not capable to make it work out of the box, me as a consumer i spend more time tweaking this server then just install and make the settings and then work, and i wonder what for plex did get Award-winning because since i start using this service each update bugs something and fix something else and of course you have to tweak again and etc …ah .and funny, they release beta updates and after that public release which are still bugged, then what is the purpose of beta ?

Seven_ so very true till like the 10th or so update it gets fixed but in the process, something breaks, don’t you just love the tweaks? All bc of one incorrect code, breaks the others along with it.

I have had the same problem for yrs, and getting down to my extra folders that i had planning to move into other folders to my Plex.
The Extra’s, Is there a limit of some kind it can hold? I’ve seen some go up to 7 if not more but somehow I can never get it to work. I’ve erased some of the file title of one video file and effects my other video file that does work in Plex that it vanish’s into a sub category acting like its a movie, undoing the edit fix’s it but the video I’m adding still doesn’t get added. I’ve even moved to my other folders and still nothing, sometimes yes but most no. Even added the prefix name with a dash to get it correctly but still no, Why do some are added and some not?

Went back to one of my old post, I had to either stay with the Plex Movie Settings or use the Personal File Settings, bc the file shows after changing that, sucks.
Movies> Settings> Agent> Personal Media —instead of like to use “Plex Media”
@TheDarkLordDarkTimes sure i do like to tweak, up to a certain extent, but whatever i change i expect to work.
and i did not understand your problem ? extras are not always added to movies ?
I kind of forgotten my old post having similar issues and found out why the video files weren’t added.
Reason they weren’t added is due to no locating an ID name on a database which does not exist, so there considered home movies which no info for the video files in resulting not being added to extra’s in the individual movie. Like the pic above but later disappeared to wrong movie selections and stuff. One of the Toy Story names went to some weird live action movie name.
Which also results after changing the Agent, there’s no section of “Recently Added Movies”.
Wish there was both though, if it can’t locate an ID from the Agent “Plex Movie”, then it should be added as “Personal Media”. Not through out 800 of my movies either as all Agent Personal Media.

Least with TV Shows, I can add extra stuff to my shows and add them like S00E100 and reads Episode 100 due to no info is available from thetvdb. Wish it could do the same with Movies in Extras. without missing any features from Plex itself along with anything else missing by changing the Agent.
But the question is that why some of my videos being added and some not? (Under Agent: Plex Movie) Never got a clear answer myself sadly.
But yes, always check if when adding extras to movies are indeed added to you movies and nothing else. (using Agent: Plex Movie)
