  • Detail on the media file if it is an issue related to playing a media file (in order to get the necessary information on a particular media file go into the Plex web interface, select the video file, when it brings up the page for the media file click on the "i" information button on the left hand side, it will then bring up a "media info" box, click on the "View XML" button, it will then open a browser window with the relevant information, copy this to http://www.pastebin.com and use the pastebin link to post the details; posting the information directly in the forum may mess up the formatting and generally takes up a lot of space).

    No Media File

  • detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better):

PlexConnect seems to launch fine. However still get error message, Trailer Unavailable.. I have installed the certs twice and checked path.

  • Ensure you post your 'PlexConnect.log' file to pastebin and post the link ('PlexConnect.log' is located in your PlexConnect folder). If possible, follow these steps to create a "more detailed fresh" one:

PMS and PlexConnect running on same machine.

If this helps. My PMS and Plex is running on my Mac Mini.. I generated the certificates on the Mac Mini.  I then copied the .cer file from the mac mini to my Macbook Pro so that I can create a profile and take my laptop to my ATV and install it.

Not sure if this would cause a problem by installing the the ATV cert. from the Macbook instead of the Mac Mini where it was created from.

Cookies? Mozilla? Safari?

Why is all that hammering onto PlexConnect?

I don't understand what you are saying. Im not using a browser

Your Plexconnect log indicates that cookies, Mozilla and WebKit are all making calls through the Plexconnect web server. Why is that?

I do not know. I do not have mozilla installed.. I'm running on Mac Mini Server.. There is a Server running, with my own DNS and web server. I had previously had PlexConnect configured to work with my own DNS. Maybe that could be the source of some of the log entries?

I have a tutorial for osx in my signature if you would like to follow it. In your situation I would leave everything as default looks like your still set up for a nas which is more then likely your issue. Post results after you start with a stock plexconnect reneame your old one to something else if you want to debug later. Probably would be the fastest solution.

“Mozilla” is probably indicating Firefox. Perhaps you should post a link to your thread in the OSX server thread in this forum. You would probably get more responses familiar with the issues for your setup.

Thanks. I actually did start fresh. I deleted (well renamed) the old PlexConnect Server.. Downloaded fresh from github and went through the tutorial by Langui.sh

My server is configured using this guide to run my own Web/DNS Server http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/71085-a-guide-to-how-i-got-plexconnect-running-on-os-x-server-107/

I'm wondering if it has something to do with needing the certificate installed in Mac Server application. I tried to import the certificate in Server app but it's not working. When I look at my webserver it's using a previous self-signed cert for 443 calls. I'm wondering if that has something to do with it.

OK So I confirmed it's a problem with my Apple Server. I disabled my DNS and Webserver and reset the settings.cfg to use the default internal web server and googles DNS, and it's working..

So the need for the certificate is requiring a configuration change if using your own DNS and webserver. I tried importing the certificate into Server App, but it didn't work.. I'll have to keep experimenting..
