Trakt Plugin Two Way Sync Broken with New Plex Movie Agent

Server Version#: 1.20.0.3181
Player Version#: 4.39.1

I upgraded to the new Plex movie agent and I’m happy with the collections posters and how quick it works.

With that said, I watched a movie last night on a friend’s account and usually just go to Trakt.com to rate the movie which also automatically marks it as played as of the time of rating, which then syncs to my own Plex account (both the watched indicator and the rating itself).

I’ve noticed the movie I watched last night didn’t sync. Has the Trakt plugin (I’m not talking about the Trakt VIP paid feature) officially broken? I heard this has something to do with metadata for the new agent now not carrying any the proper metadata ID’s for Trakt to recognize the movie (TV shows since the agent hasn’t changed, still works as expected).

Is there any potential for Plex devs to reinclude this small piece of data so that APIs/plugins etc. that depend on this id still continue to work? For me at least, I want to use the new agent moving forward but Trakt two-way sync is also very important feature for me (I’m a nearly decade long Plex Pass user).

This is known, there is a feature request with a response from a Plex Employee here. There is currently no way for 3rd party apps and plugins to match as the metadata id has changed and no longer gives the imdb/tmdb id.

Just as a heads up a new developer has forked the plugin and it already works with the new movie agent.

Stop Plex.
Replace the trakt.tv bundle with the one from the above repo.
Start Plex.
