Transcode while recording Live TV

Hello all,

First off, thanks for the help I’ve gotten by browsing the forums.

As of last night, I’ve now moved all DVR function over to Plex. As I was playing with the settings, I found the “transcode while recording”, which is ‘experimental’. When I did this, my CPU (E5-2470) was working pretty hard with all cores around 80%, while my GPU (1050ti) was idle. I have hardware transcoding enabled, and anytime I need to transcode on the fly off my server, the GPU does it flawlessly.

Is this the correct behavior? Is there a limitation that the GPU can’t be used to transcode a Live Tv Recording on the fly?
