I’ve been having an issue with an entire season of a TV show failing transcoding when trying to sync to my Android phone. Plex status always just goes to “The transcoder was unable to process this media.”
I’ve looked through the logs, and I couldn’t find anythat that would help me figure out why Plex is failing on this media. The transcode seems to start up fine, but then I always just see this generic error:
ERROR - [Transcoder] [h264_qsv @ 05f38180] Error during encoding: device failed (-17)
ERROR - [Transcoder] Video encoding failed
Can someone look at the attached logs and help me figure out why the transcoder is failing?

The files (season) in your snip turned out to be corrupted, wouldn’t even play, so I will defeinitly need to replace that. However, that’s not the content I’m actually having issues with currently. I probably should have mentioned which files specifically in my original post. Sorry.

I ran these files through your checker batch file, and a few provided the below output, but most scanned fine without errors. Not sure if these audio errors would be a hard stop for the transcoder? I have no issues playing these files through Plex and other media players. Even the ones without errors fail transcoding.

Thanks Trumpy. Yeah, I’ll have to replace or re-encode them. I really wanted to find out what it was about them that was causing issues with the mobile sync transcodes. It’s very off that they fail there, but work just fine when PMS has to transcode them for my Roku.
