Transcoder not working with x265

Hi everyone,

Since the last 2 updates for DSM7, playing x265 movies is now impossible from my NAS since the transcoder doesn’t work anymore when it did work PERFECTLY FINE before!
It’s a bit annoying…

[Transcode] Got a request to stop a transcode session without a valid session GUID.

I understand what you’re saying and I thank you for looking at that for me but I really don’t understand why it worked before and not now anymore.
Also I tried to play the file 3 times so something’s definitely wrong with my media server…

Where can I find previous version of Plex Media Server: I could try and re-install the one that came before the previous one and see if it works again ?!
Or I’ll reinstall everything from scratch.

Mr Grumpy needs to relax.
I’m not sure if this is the issue you’re experiencing, but after the latest update I started receiving that error because trailers got turned on in extras. Turning off trailers worked for me.

I actually have the same problem but trailer did not fix it.
Direct play is working fine, but it seems that transcoding can’t work since migrating to DSM7.

I checked every topic I could on the migration (yet I did it after my first attempt).
I can access my library just fine, when using the plex app on my computer (through direct play), it is working fine, but once I am using browser or TV (which need transcoding), it says that my server is not powerful enough to convert the video (though it was working fine before the update). I got a DS218+.

Here is my log folder, yet as mentionned above, it does not seems to have any mention of a failure of some kind, even if the error message showed during each of my many attemps (on many different files).

Hello,

The playback fails instantly when starting the episode. It says “the server is not powerful enough to convert the video” (which is false, since it was ok back then).

I followed your instructions, here is the logs and xml file.

I do not understand neither.

As I said, it was working just fine before the update, and I am using hardware decoding so it should not be too CPU intensive.

I tried unchecking the first checkbox but it is not working anyways.

Do you have any idea from where it can come from or what I can try to make it work again ?

Edit : On DSM, I don’t see any spike in CPU usage. Neither in Plex dashboard. It does not even seems to try to transcode.

I was using version 1.24.3.5033 (plex pass download).

Just tried 1.24.2.4973 and it is now working.
First of all, thank you.
Second, do you know why this happened ? I am kind of scared that at some point it will break when going to 1.24.3.
