I Updated to 1.25.2.5319 and now nothing is streaming to anywhere

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319
Player Version#: 1.34.1.2601-ff212e16

Everything was running fine until i updated to this 7000 version. Can someone please please give me a link to the previous version?

Anywhere i try to play any video files (Apple TV in the living room or even my computer which is connected to the nas via the switch) the streaming doesnt work.

I just want to roll back to the previous version first and then i can help provide whatever is needed to determine what the problem. My house runs on plex and no1 can watch anything and its making a lotta ppl grumpy! lol

Do you mean the update to Synology’s DSM 7.0?
According to Synology you cannot roll it back – Google found a number of “unofficial” hacks (didn’t check those out)

May I please see the log files ZIP ?

Seeing the errors / problems will allow me to help you.

Im not sure i know how 5o get the log files.

I meant roll back the PMS version

see Server Logs on how to obtain the zip file with all logs through the Plex Web app or manually.

Got 'em!

it wont let me upload it here though
 keeps saying “Sorry, there was an error uploading that file. Please try again.”

Took forever to generate. Would just
 stop downloading

HYG

I am also having the same issue. Since updating to this version, everything now says:

“This server is not powerful enough to convert video.”

I have tested extensively on TV Shows I have previously watched and also movies. Very few play after the update.

@ffhhkk

The problem you’re having is that you have more media directories than DSM (Linux kernel) can monitor at one time by default. (65536 in DSM 7, 8192 in DSM 6)

The transcoder needs 2 slots

The easy way to resolve this is:

  1. File station → Right click on each of your media shared folders → Properties.
  2. Let it count up the number of folders in use. Save that count
  3. Repeat for each of your media folders you have Plex monitor
  4. When you have all the counts – Total it up
  5. Now round up to the next multiple of 32768 (gives you room to grow and keeps memory aligned)

Here, in the FAQ is how you update the kernel setting.

@ghunter91

I need your log files ZIP too (which capture the playback failure)

I"ve done this before
 i saved the link too: Synology FAQ - Questions, Answers, and a few How-To's - #22 by ChuckPa

will i have to do it every time i update plex?

@ChuckPa , thank you.

@ffhhkk

Do it when you update DSM. This is an operating system parameter not a Plex paramter.

By keeping the Scheduled Task named, you only need “run the task” after the update.

I’ve written it to be self maintaining. You can’t hurt anything by running it multiple times.

you are a star! thank you for helping!

Look, very, very simple. Went to bed last night, remote working fine.

Woke up, ran Plex, Saw update, got a little concerned when I saw it wanted to do something with Split Tunneling on Nord VPN, but ignored my better instinct and updated anyway. BIG Mistake!

Now Remote is dead after update to 1.25.2.5319 !!!

Now, I simply want to go back to the revision I had before the update. The one that worked fine.

I am not a computer wiz kid. I just want the remote function work like it did last night before the update, hence give me back the the last version that worked fine.

Thank You!

You hit reply too soon. It didn’t upload

Your server certificate is OK . Definitely need the logs to see what’s happening

I hope this one goes through

@Joseph-Persia

You’ve given me a Windows server log.

This is the Synology (Linux) forum.

I have no experience with Windows & Plex other than what I hear.
I know windows updates can break anything and everything with no notice.

Is it not true that Windows keeps older versions of executables ?
I’ve heard it said the the Plex installer, because it’s in a wrapper does that.

Assuming that’s true, you might be able to find a copy of the older version stored there somewhere.

Beyond that, I don’t know what to tell you.

You’ll probably be far better helped posting in server-windows
