Hi all,
I’m having an issue that I’ve been unable to find other posts about, at least this issue specifically.
In short, whenever I stream something longer than say 30 minutes from my Plex Media Server on a Windows 10 machine to my Ps5, at seemingly random intervals the playback just stops. No buffering, no code, no black screen it just stops and stays on the frame. Pausing and playing does nothing. If I jump back a bit it just plays until the same frame and then stops again. If I skip ahead it doesn’t play (if I recall correctly last time I tested). Only workaround I have is to leave the player and then just pick resume on the same item. Then it works fine. Sometimes for the rest of the movie, sometimes for 40 minutes, sometimes for 10 minutes. Sometimes after resuming the playback the subtitle format can change as well. For example being slightly bigger.
I’ve tried both 1080p and 4K MKV files but it seems to be the same on both. I’m using Direct stream and as far as I can tell there’s no transcoding involved.
From what I can tell in the logs, while the playback is stopped it’s 90% “waiting”
However, I believe I’ve found the actual moment when playback stops and it looks like this:
“Jobs: ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Transcoder.exe’ exit code for process 5036 is 0 (success)” doesn’t look like a good sign! But I haven’t been able to find any documentation on this log specifically.
I’ve seen before during the same situation “Jobs: ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Transcoder.exe’ exit code for process 24712 is -1059143458 (intentional termination)” as well.
I’ve exported my Logs and Database, unfortunately I noticed I had verbose on but maybe with my attached screenshots finding the timestamp is OK anyways? Please let me know if I should upload them.
Anyone else experiencing this or know what the solution might be?
Thanks in advance!
