Finally got this server configured with pass-through of the internal GPU. All seems well, except for random stopping after about 7 minutes when playing 4K content transcoding to 1080p (20Mbps). I avoid this particular kind of transcoding, but it was a useful test.
After 6.5–7.5 minutes of uneventful playback, playback stops and I’m back at the title screen as if I had pressed stop. All the time, bandwidth usage is stable, CPU usage is low and stable. I can immediately resume playback, and it works just fine, although it defaults to full rate playback and I have to reselect transcoding.
I’ve tried three different 4K titles. Same for each.
Is this a software bug or configuration issue? Or do I just need a beefier server?
