Transcoding 4K media on a LAN!

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#:
QNAP: TVS-873e with 1TB M2 Cache, 8GB RAM and Integrated Radeon R7 GPU for 4K video

When I sit at my PC open PLEX using Chrome and select a 4K file it does not Direct Play but transcode so I wait 10 seconds, it plays 10 seconds then stops for 10 seconds and this repeats!

There are NO subtitles being used.

The network is CAT6 Gigabit fully switched.

I get Direct Play on my NVidia Shield.

In the PLEX Console I’m seeing:

TimeJan 04, 2019 23:32:06.264
LevelError
Thread0x7f3dd02b3700
Message[Transcoder] [mp4 @ 0x2b181c0] Application provided duration: -16 / timestamp: 26206072 is out of range for mov/mp4 format

Chrome does not accept 6 channel sound. stereo only.

Please capture the playback again (first 30 seconds) with DEBUG logs , not VERBOSE logs.

Stop playback
Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs
Attach the ZIP.

We will see what the logs detail.

because chrome can’t direct play that file.

Understood.

Have installed the PLEX app on my WinX PC and it plays perfectly.
