I have a nVidia Quadro P2000 video card installed in my PC.
Before I ask my question/problem, I have read all the back and forth in regards to whether one should transcode 4K or not. Personally, I have no opinion. However, I do believe this should have the ability to transcode 4K videos without issue with the setup I have.
I am using the “app.plex.tv” to play the videos on my computer. I already have 1080p versions of my 4K movies (created by Plex’s optimization feature), so friends streaming and I can play them on non-4k devices. But I wonder why I am having issues transoding.
It is one of those things that is driving me crazy, because I believe it should work, and there are not many “settings” that can be adjusted.
If anyone can lend a suggestion, I would be so grateful.
Thanks to all who took time out of their day to read my post.
I didn’t understand you question. Your friends are able to play your 4k and non-4k versions using their clients, but you’re not?
I believe the web browser player will always need transcoding.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. In short, when I’m transcoding 4k videos, I get lots of buffering. I am not understanding why it is not working properly with my set up.
A Quadro P2000 should be able to do multiple streams. Unfortunately, it cannot even do one stream at this point.
Thank you! I did see that. Unfortunately, my OS is Windows Server 2016 (not Windows 10). When I looked for that option, it was not there…My guess is that, it is not available in Windows Server 2016 (whether or not it will be come available is unknown to me).
I do not know if there is anything else I could try. I have also entertained the option of a Windows 10 VM, but I do not know if it will solver the problem or if it is worth it.
